Sweet Corn Blues FestivalAug. 25, 2012 – Aug. 26, 2012

Over 16 tons of sweetcorn, cooked by an antique steam
engine or bagged by the dozen, will be on sale August 25 and 26 at the
24th annual Uptown Normal Sweet Corn Blues Festival.Help celebrate the harvest with plenty of good food, free entertainment
featuring Central Illinois blues bands and a large arts, crafts and flea market. Many Uptown businesses will be holding special sales as well.

Nickel Plate Railroad Exhibit

Aug. 18, 2012 – Aug. 18, 2012 , 12-4pm

The Central Illinois Railroad Club hosts the Nickel
Plate Railroad steam Locomotive #639 and Southern Pacific caboose. The
exhibit is located near the north entrance to Miller Park, off West Wood
Street. The exhibit is open from noon to 4:00 pm on May 28, June 17,
July 4, July 22, August 18 and September 3.

David Davis Mansion. Your afternoon will begin with Victorian tea,
served inside the beautiful mansion. While you enjoy your tea, you will
be treated to a back-to-school style show. Once tea is over, “The Tea Ladies” will delight you with tales of “Outrageous Etiquette” of the Victorian Era. Your afternoon will be complete as you
enjoy an elegant performance of the classical ballet, “Les Sylphides”,
by members of the USA Ballet Youth Ensemble.

McLean County MissFits Roller Derby
